Platforms and Tools Asset Register for a National Health Agency Transition
Built and validated a Platforms and Tools asset register using LeanIX data as the baseline, anchoring application migration and remediation planning to a clean source of truth.
A complex agency transition with no validated, agreed asset register to anchor migration planning.
A national health agency was being stood up as the successor to several legacy bodies, requiring a full transition of platforms, applications, and tooling. Asset information existed in fragments across LeanIX enterprise architecture tooling, team spreadsheets, and individual SME memory. There was no single validated register that engineering, business owners, and the transition programme could all work from.
Without that anchor, migration planning, testing, and remediation work would have continued in parallel from inconsistent baselines. The agency needed an analyst to consolidate, validate, and publish the asset register, and to design the process for keeping it accurate through the transition.
Consolidate from LeanIX, validate with owners, publish with governance.
We took responsibility for the legacy platforms and tools workstream, working from LeanIX data and validating it against business and technical owners.
- Pulled and analysed baseline data from the LeanIX enterprise architecture tool
- Validated each asset against named business and technical owners through structured workshops
- Designed the asset register structure in Excel and SharePoint to support migration, testing, and remediation planning
- Published the register with soft go-ahead from owning teams
- Defined the ongoing process for keeping the register accurate through the transition
- Documented the workflow for internal project use and wider programme review
Source data, owner validation, governed publication.
The workstream ran in waterfall cadence using LeanIX as the source of truth and SharePoint as the publication layer. Process design was kept lightweight enough to be sustained through the transition. Excel served as the working register, with structured governance controlling change.
A validated, owner-signed asset register anchoring migration planning.
- Published asset register with soft go-ahead from owning teams
- Clean LeanIX-derived baseline for migration, testing, and remediation workstreams
- Documented process for maintaining accuracy through the transition
- Reduced risk of parallel work running from inconsistent baselines
